A talent show featuring Liam Payne is now on hold until Netflix speaks to the singer’s family following his tragic death.
The former One Direction star filmed Building The Band in August – just two months before his fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina.
Liam was a mentor on the show alongside Destiny’s Child former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger and Kelly Rowland, helping 50 singers compete for the chance to form a band.
A source said: “It’s too early to judge, but the show has definitely not been saved.
“Filming was completed at the end of the summer.
“Netflix will sit down with Liam’s family when the time is right to discuss the series and when it might be released.
“Everyone involved is devastated and their hearts go out to his family.
“There is no rush or pressure to release the series.
“It will just be a beautiful tribute to Liam and capture him at his best in the months leading up to his death.”
The competition — hosted by Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean — culminated in three live shows filmed at Manchester’s Aviva Studios over the summer.
Unlike other talent searches, the singers had to bond entirely on musical compatibility and chemistry before meeting.
It is understood that the contestants were isolated in booths before finally coming face to face with each other.
Earlier this year, executive producer Kate Lawson described the series as a “brave and bold move”.
He added: “We leave it up to the singers themselves to form their band based on chemistry first.
“With looks out of the equation, can they bond with their bandmates?”
After Liam’s death, Nicole took to Instagram to share a collection of behind-the-scenes selfies featuring her and Kelly.
Paying tribute to Liam, she said: “It was a blessing working with you recently.
“We shared the same love and passion for music and I will forever remember our meaningful and enjoyable conversations.”
Fans who were in the audience in Manchester took to X to share selfies with Liam while filming the live shows.
One Lauren wrote: “Liam was so cute.”
Another added: “Meeting Liam . . . was the best thing ever!!
“He held my hand and gave me his most precious smile.”
It seems that Liam’s fans would love nothing more than to see him doing what they loved most on screen.
The glass act is pouring on Pixie Spritz.
PIXIE LOTT put a refreshing twist on Halloween – dressed as an Aperol spritz cocktail.
The Mama Do singer mixed with glamor at a costume party at London celebrity haunt, Annabelle’s.
Elsewhere, at the Hallowzeem party in the Conduit, Laura Whitmore was Julia Roberts-turned-pretty lady Vivian, Leigh Francis rocked a Beetlejuice Bob costume and Doctor Who Yasmin Finney peeked out as a sexy cave girl.
Lottie Moss gave off vampire vibes while Strictly’s Janette Manrara epitomized innocence as Snow White.
Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway was a spooky Statue of Liberty and Halle Berry met an evil Joker.
But didn’t they all look BOO-tiful?
Jess is so in love.
JESS GLYNNE couldn’t keep the smile off her face or her eyes off her girlfriend Alex Scott during her debut Las Vegas show.
The Hold My Hand singer spoke of her “love” for her family during her show at Voltaire at The Venetian Resort on Friday.
Before performing her 2015 hit Take Me Home, Jess told the audience about her relationship with football pundit Alex and how much she missed him while on the road with her band in America.
The London-born singer said: “My mum and dad are here and my beautiful girlfriend, who’s all from the UK.
“And the next song I’m going to sing is called Take Me Home.
“It’s the most beautiful thing when you’re on the road.
“But then, obviously, family and friends and love — it’s hard to be away from that.
“When you see people who mean a lot to you, I think they mean even more.
“It’s crazy but it’s beautiful and I appreciate them. And I love them.”
Alex was seen dancing in the audience and cheered as Jess performed an excellent rendition of I’ll Be There.
The Sun revealed last year that the former England player and singer were quietly dating after being spotted watching tennis at Wimbledon.
Reflecting on the end of her US tour, Jess was emotional about her Vegas night.
He said: “It’s been such an incredible few weeks.
“We’re coming to the end and it’s amazing to be here, in this room, in Vegas.
“It’s very surreal for all of us, right?
“It feels like all those box-tick moments.”
Jess now joins a list of stellar talent, including Kylie Minogue and Christina Aguilera, who have headlined Voltaire.
Talk about girl power.
Can you spy on Tubby Tom?
He may have finished shooting Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two in the UK earlier this month, but Tom Cruise isn’t leaving our shores just yet.
I can reveal that the actor will don a fat suit for a top-secret movie project called Punch and Judy – which, despite the name, has nothing to do with the British seaside puppet show.
Action man Tom – famous for his stunts – will play dimwitted businessman Punch, while Judy is the name given to a giant iceberg with the potential to cause mass destruction.
The dark comedy is already in pre-production in London.
A television source said: “Details of the film are under lock and key.
Even the title has been kept off IMDB.
“It’s a different direction for Tom, but he wants to do something.
“He would be completely unrecognizable in facial prosthetics and look overweight.”
It seems that the look of the visual change will be a real mission.
Channel 4 is trying to replicate the success of ITV’s My Mum Your Dad with a similar dating show.
I’m told a show called Single Mom Street is being made as a pilot.
It follows in the footsteps of the ITV series hosted by Davina McCall in which older children help their parents go on dates.
A source said: “The series will focus on single mothers – and unlike the ITV show, the children can be as young as 13.”
I’ve been told that the makers are the team behind the Doghouse where people are matched with the pooch of their dreams.
Spider-Man star Tom Holland has admitted he’s a “numpty” when it comes to launching his new non-alcoholic beer.
The London-born actor revealed that he was clueless during planning and strategy meetings for his new brand Barrow.
He said: “It’s been a really fun process for me.
“It’s been very upsetting.
“It’s no secret that I’m quite uneducated.
“I would find myself in these boardrooms with all these suits, CEOs, CPOs, COOs, then attorneys and lawyers.
“And then there I am—a perfectly benign one.”
