Election forecaster Kamala stands by Harris’ win prediction.
Renowned election prognosticator Alan Lichtman has predicted nine of the past 10 presidential elections.
Democratic candidate Kamala Harris will be the next president of the United States and defeat Republican challenger Donald Trump on Election Day, or so historian and election prognosticator Alan Lichtman has predicted so far.
Known for accurately predicting the outcome of the last 9 out of 10 presidential elections, Lichtman said on his YouTube channel Tuesday night that Democratic candidate Harris’ lead in battleground states was shrinking and the polls were close to nail-biting. Despite this, his prediction has not changed.
“Nothing has changed to change my prediction that I made on September 5,” Lichtman said, “against the election.”
Lichtman has come under fire for his predictions, most notably last month when political pollster Nate Silver called the American University modern history professor’s predictions “completely arbitrary” in a post on X. .
He insisted on Tuesday that the 13 keys he uses to make his predictions remain unchanged and criticized the spread of polling in the media, saying that governing instead of campaigning is a sign that White Who will win the 2024 race for the House?
“I don’t have a crystal ball, I’m not Speaker Mike Johnson who thinks he has a pipeline to God, my system is based on history, it’s very strong, but it’s always possible, you know it. Don’t know. Going forward, something so catastrophic and so unprecedented will happen to break the pattern of history,” Lichtman said, but that doesn’t mean my prediction has been invalidated.
Lichtman’s son Sam interviewed his father during a 90-minute live video, where the election prognosticator argued that democracy itself is at risk in this year’s race for the White House.
Before every election, Lichtman said she gets butterflies, but this year is different.
“I have a flock of crows in my stomach,” he said.
