Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz realized they weren’t meant to be after ending the “Blink Twice” press tour.
“Ultimately, once the project ended, they realized they were on different pages with their own wills,” a source close to Tatum told Us Weekly on Wednesday. “After their press tour wrapped it quickly shook.”
The couple met while working on the psychological thriller 2021, directed by Kravitz, and became engaged two years later.
Kravitz, 35, and Tatum, 44, promoted the film together before its August release, often talking about each other during interviews.
“[Kravitz] And Channing are opposites, but they’re always connected by their love for art and film, and that’s what keeps them together,” the insider added.
However, once the promo tour ended, the pair started thinking about their wedding, which turned out to be an eye-opening experience.
“Wedding plans were in full swing, but none of them were heading to the altar,” the source said, adding that the process put “a lot of pressure on them” and forced them to “rethink” the whole thing. .
“Zoe is a very independent person,” the insider said, adding that her perspective on marriage changed after her 2021 divorce from Carl Glossman, whom she married in 2019.
“After her divorce, she expressed that she didn’t want to get married again,” the source told Us Weekly.
Tatum, for his part, was married to “Step Up” co-star Jenna Dewan for nearly a decade before their 2018 split. The exes share an 11-year-old daughter, Everly.
Although Tatum previously admitted that he was hesitant to remarry, he was reportedly ready for a slower lifestyle.
The insider told Us Weekly that Tatum is a “family man” and “very involved with his daughter,” while Kravitz’s main focus is “his career.”
The pair ultimately decided that “it just wasn’t going to work.”
“They were looking at the big long-term picture and realized they might not be a good match,” the source said. “There is still a lot of love between them, and [the split] was friendly.”
Reps for Tatum and Kravitz did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
The pair’s split was first reported on Tuesday — just over a week after the pair decided to go their separate ways, per People .
Despite their breakup, the pair are still on good terms and will star together in the upcoming sci-fi comedy “Alpha Gang.”
While neither Kravitz nor Tatum have spoken about their split, the “Batman” star apparently confirmed the reports by stepping out without her 7-carat engagement ring on Wednesday.
